White to Pink

Just a quickie to celebrate the occasion! I'm still working on that larger anniversary picture I mentioned in my journal - even if I do have the urge to draw endless fanart of that spider from TKCD...

I tried to do a kind of Gameboy glitch effect for this one, but I'm utter shit at anything like photo manipulation so I just had to draw it instead. Speaking of the Gameboy I absolutely love how this series has developed since Kirby's Dream Land, and how each director left their own mark on the games they produced - Sakurai lay the foundations for the series and created a unique and accessible platformer, Shimomura's games have a wonderfully cosy atmosphere and really set up the whole 'vile villain, saccharine show' trope I adore, and Kumazaki arguably perfected Sakurai's formula and delivered games which are perfect for newcomers but have a lot of substance if you're willing to look for it.
